Welcome
to r junk drawer, I'm Steve Rametta and I created this web site to share
with you, the talent and creativity of this artist, Conrad Brazzel. He
started his career as a cartoonist and teaching Art to 5th and 6th graders
as he still does today. Conrad said that the students always inspired
him. After studying Art from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
California he became a Graphic Artist. These endeavors lead him to an
occupation using metal. He has been working with metal for more than 30
years. His artistic background and knowledge of metal are represented
on the following pages.
These are just some of the many sculptures he has created for R customers.
Conrad can customize something special just for you, too.
Each design is researched
and sketched on graph paper for proper proportions. Then the drawings
are sketched onto the
metal (approx. 1/8" thick) by hand. Each piece is cut using a Plasma
Arc,which uses electricity, heat and air pressure to make the intricate
cuts. Some pieces are polished and heated at critical points to bring
out the natural color in the metal. Conrad calls this "painting with
the torch". Therefore, no two pieces are the same. Other pieces are
coated with a solution to accelerate the aging process, which we call
"rusting". Each sculpture is signed and dated by Conrad. Your
satisfaction is R guarantee or your money will be returned.
Thank You.
Please enjoy R site!
